This photo shows the lengthmen's house at Fagernut. The house was built in 1904, at 1310 meters above sea level. The architect was Paul Armin Due. In the background one can see the two mountain peaks of Ramnabergnuten, at 1726–1731 meters above sea level. The old Bergen Railway track, to the left, is covered with some snow. At Fagernut you can eat a meal, drink a cup of coffee or two, and meet fellow bicyclists et cetera. The specialities at Fagernut are the navvy waffle (rallarvaffel) with red jam and cream, and the navvy soup (sluskesuppe). So, I made a stay at Fagernut for almost an hour. A view toward the Hardangerjøkulen glacier, as seen from a position circa 500 meters south-east of Kvinå. The glacier's peak is at 1863 meters above sea level. In the foreground is the ice-cold lake Tågavatni at 1298 meters above sea level. (Photo at 14:59:33, August 1 2006)
This photo shows the lake Tågavatni, and a view toward west. The photo was taken circa 450 meters from Kvinå. (Tågavatni could also be spelled as Taugevatn. In general, I try to spell Norwegian names of places as they are spelled in the official map of this area, Norwegian Mapping Authority, Finse Turkart 1:50 000.) (Photo at 15:01:36, August 1 2006)
